Crawl space repair in Meridian

Most of Meridian was built in the last thirty years, and most of it was built on farmland. The irrigation laterals and drains that watered those fields are still there, running between subdivisions.

A lot of those homes sit on crawl spaces with the builder’s original thin plastic. Twenty years on, that plastic is often torn, and in some neighborhoods there’s groundwater under it every summer.

What we run into in Meridian

Summer groundwater

Homes near laterals and drains, or in lower parts of a subdivision, can see water come up during irrigation season.

Builder-grade barriers

Thin plastic that was never fastened to the walls, now pulled back or shredded.

Home-sale inspections

Meridian homes change hands a lot, and the crawl space is a common line on inspection reports. We write the scope so it can go straight into the repair request.

Why it’s dry in March and wet in August.

From roughly April to October the canals run full for irrigation. In parts of Meridian, that pushes the water table up, and it comes into the crawl space from underneath, not through the walls.

What that means for you: a crawl space that looks fine at a spring inspection can have standing water by midsummer. If you put a new barrier down without handling that, the water ends up trapped under the plastic.

If yours is wet in summer and dry in winter, it’s probably groundwater, not a leak. That’s the first thing we check. Water removal and sump pumps
